The International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) announced the appointment of three new IFPO Board of Directors.
Kevin Palacios, MS.c, CPP, PSP, CPOI
Kevin Palacios is passionate about security, safety and education. He has worked at organizations from several industries, in charge of Executive Protection, Investigations, Physical Security, Training and Consulting.
He directs the Occupational Health and Safety Master's degree at Universidad del Pacífico - Ecuador, runs his private security coaching practice, and is an instructor for Professional Security Certification training programs in Latin America, Asia, Africa and Oceania.
He serves as a volunteer leader at ASIS, ASSP and the ICF. He has published dozens of articles in the Americas and Europe, and is a contributing author in two IFPO textbooks: Security Supervision and Management: Theory and Practice of Asset Protection; and The Professional Protection Officer: Practical Security Strategies and Emerging Trends.
Dr. Linda Florence, CPP
Dr. Florence is the founder of The Florence Group, a management consulting firm specializing in executive development, organizational consulting and leadership coaching for the security profession with a wide range of successful consulting and training engagements.
She has 25+years of experience driving enterprise security risk management to best-practice levels with expertise leading organizations through crisis events. She served as the Security director for Fortune 500 companies in various industries including banking, retail, telecom and casino gaming, integrating security and risk management as an essential element of business strategy and culture. She is a sought-after speaker on security and leadership topics, expert witness for security, researcher, published author, and contributor to Standards and Guidelines. Her academic experience includes Dean of Security for two universities and mentoring graduate and doctoral levels students and faculty for the ASIS Assets Protection Course.
Michael J. Fagel, Ph.D., CEM, CPOI, CPO
Mike Fagel has been in many phases of security and safety since his first tour of duty as a campus public safety officer in 1974, moving to industrial security in 1976. His career spanned Fire-Rescue, Emergency Medical services, Emergency Management, State and County law enforcement.
He currently teaches Homeland Security for several DHS contractors in the Intelligence and protective fields.
He served four years as an Intelligence Officer for the National Guard Bureau as well as several mid-East assignments. Fagel teaches at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Northern Illinois University, Eastern Kentucky University, the National Center for Bio Medical Research & Training (NCBRT) at LSU, as well as Aurora University. He has published more than 500 articles and contributed to 20 textbooks.
