The Bassett Healthcare Network has expanded its K-9 security unit and will continue expansions in 2023, aiming to bolster physical security.

Existing partnerships between mental health professionals and local police forces have reduced emergency hospital admissions by around 80%, according to the Canadian Mental Health Association of Waterloo-Wellington Director of Services Jeff Stanlick.
