Plans to move visitor screening to Ellis Island have been called off due to disagreements over security procedure with the Department of the Interior, local law enforcement and politicians.

Additional checkpoints at Ellis and Liberty Islands will replace the security screening prior to boarding a ferry to the New York landmarks.
