Leaders at the Bristol Zoo use video surveillance to identify damage to perimeter security and assist with wildlife conservation operations.

The Smithsonian’s National Zoo’s Visitor Access and Secure Fencing Project proposal includes the installation of additional fencing, scheduled to begin in 2019. The proposal is currently before the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) for approval.

Exotic animals that are unregistered or illegal would be taken to the new $2.9 million facility and held temporarily.
