OSHA announces that marine cargo service Maersk Line Limited wrongfully terminated a seaman for reporting safety concerns to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard Foundation will hold a virtual event for the 16th Annual Tribute to the United States Coast Guard from Washington, D.C. on October 29.

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization, activated its disaster relief grant program to assist Coast Guard members impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Laura. Since 2005, the Foundation has distributed $2 million to support Coast Guard members impacted in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico following the 2017 hurricane season, and those affected by the wildfires in California.

The Coast Guard will unveil a proposal for TWIC card reader requirements in February, which should hopefully initiate the full implementation of those readers.
