Ray Whitworth has been appointed the Vice President of Operations and Security for Major League Soccer.
Whitworth has more than 30 years’ experience in law enforcement, and he most recently served as Head of Team and Corporate Security for the English Football Association (The FA), according to Tribal Football.
The Brazilian government announced a $900 million investment in its security forces ahead of hosting the 2014 World Cup, in light of rising crime in Sao Paulo and other host cities.
