Yellowstone National Park was damaged by flash flooding that wiped away roads, bridges and utilities in the area. Visitor management and disaster relief funds are aiding in the park's reconstruction.

California Governor Jerry Brown vetoed a bill that would require licensing, background checks and better training of security officers in the state. 

Security officers and private investigators would receive a single identification card they could take from job to job under a bill before Ohio lawmakers.

The Murrieta, Ga. City Council mandated the use of E-Verify for all businesses in the city. The Department of Homeland Security program is aimed at curbing the employment of illegal immigrants and other ineligible workers.
