Former police official George Anderson has been tapped to oversee security at the World Trade Center.

The head of security for the company that manages the 1 World Trade Center building has resigned from his post.

A New Jersey teen got past the wall of security at 1 World Trade Center and a sleeping security officer and made it up to the spire.

A group of 12 lower Manhattan residents and one shop owner are suing the police, claiming that the NYPD's security plan for the World Trade Center will leave the area in "fortresslike isolation."

Doug Faber, 38, is replacing Lou Barani as the new chief of security at the 16-acre facility. 

New York residents are concerned about the effect the new security plan will have on their communities. 

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which is redeveloping the World Trade Center, needs a “top-to-bottom overhaul” because of poor management and a lack of cost controls.
