Some security experts and enterprise officials often contend that low-level thieves, outside hackers and shoplifters are the biggest threat to the life of a business. But, get this, C-suite folks, in place or gone, can often do greater damage.

Take for instance the former CEO of YouSendIt, Khalid Shaikh, who has just been charged with denial of service attacks against his former employer. An indictment states that between December 2008 and June 2009 the former CEO launched four denial of service attacks against YouSendIt’s servers. Each DOS attack temporarily rendered the servers incapable of handling legitimate network traffic.
