Less than a week remains until the premier security products trade show of the year: ISC West, sponsored by the Security Industry Association, April 1-3 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.

ISC West is like the Consumer Electronics Show for the security industry – the technological achievements are just as impressive, but instead of being used for video games and fun gadgets, they’re used to save lives and protect property.

Almost 900 exhibitors will show off the latest security devices on a nearly 300,000-square-foot display floor. In addition, 76 companies have entered the New Product Showcase, a contest that honors the best innovations in security. Awards will be presented on April 1 at 3 p.m. in the main lobby of the upper level of the Sands.

Also this year, ISC West will debut the Public Security & Safety Expo, an event-within-an-event that will feature products that are especially useful for homeland security and law enforcement. Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minihan, former director of the National Security Agency and the Defense Intelligence Agency, will deliver the expo’s keynote address on April 2 at 11 a.m. in rooms 602-603 of The Venetian.

Many more events are planned for ISC West, including a Global Expo that will highlight security solutions from outside the United States.
