Axis Communications, the global leader in the network video market, announced today that Cisco has joined Axis’ Application Development Partner (ADP) program. As a member of this program, Cisco will be able to integrate support for Axis network video products and collaborate to bring complete and fully integrated IP video surveillance solutions to the marketplace.
“Axis continues to build strong partnerships through our world class ADP program,” said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager of Axis Communications. “Through the ADP program, Axis will work with Cisco to provide support for professional video security systems so that the surveillance needs of the end-user are met from beginning to end.”
Companies that qualify for the ADP program have active development of video applications, market presence and serve important and relevant segments of the physical security industry. Once selected, ADP program participants collaborate with Axis on co-marketing opportunities, and share software and market intelligence that helps meet the needs of vertical markets including education, finance, government, retail and transportation among others. The results are total network video solutions designed to increase marketshare for Axis and its partners.
“Our collaboration with Axis Communications enhances our ability to provide an integrated IP-based video surveillance solution for our customers,” said Bill Stuntz, vice president and general manager of Cisco’s Physical Security Business Unit. “Joining Axis’ ADP program helps us meet our customers’ diverse video needs as they transition from analog to hybrid, to completely digital systems. Ultimately, customers will benefit from deploying security solutions that have an open architecture and are standards-based.”
Cisco’s standards-based, video surveillance software enables Web-based monitoring, management, recording and storage of audio and video that can be accessed virtually anywhere by authorized users. As part of a complete video surveillance solution, Cisco video surveillance products deliver secure access to live and recorded video for faster investigation response and event resolution. Cisco’s video surveillance offering also allows businesses to leverage existing investments in analog and IP devices, providing a smooth migration path from traditional surveillance video to digital network solutions.
