Prepared for any emergency, Louisa County Public Schools enhance security and emergency response with Valerus VMS

Vicon Industries, Inc., designer and manufacturer of video surveillance and access control software, hardware and components, announced today that Louisa County Public Schools in Northern Virginia has completed installation of a district-wide Vicon Valerus video management solution that encompasses its six school buildings and connects nearly 400 cameras.
A new program in Alabama would enable administrators of schools without an SRO or security officer to keep a firearm in a secured safe on campus for use during an active shooter event.
Aloha Stadium previously did not restrict the number or size of bags visitors brought, and large strollers were allowed. Moving forward, however, stadium-goers may each bring one bag into the stadium not exceeding 12” by 6” by 12”.
“Given today’s climate regarding security, we have to be able to optimize our security presence on campus as much as possible,” says Frank Solano, Security Systems Manager for McCormick Place. “That means using technology and other tools to keep our visitors safe."
The TSA is considering eliminating passenger screening at more than 150 small and medium-sized airports across the U.S., CNN reports. The proposal would mark a major change for U.S. air travel following 9/11, especially as screening measures for items such as laptops and tablets are increasing.
