Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed legislation (S.231/A.951) establishing a speed camera program in school zones in the City of Buffalo. The program allows the City of Buffalo to enforce speed limits in school zones using cameras that record speeding violations in real time without the need for a police officer at the scene. The City can then use this evidence to impose liability on the owner of the vehicle for the speeding violation.
