In an effort to curb violent crimes and retail theft occurring across the state of California and the country, Governor Gavin Newsom has pledged additional funding toward mitigation efforts.
The Illinois attorney general has formed a task force comprised of national, state, and local law enforcement as well as large retailers to assess and eliminate organized retail crime in the state.

According to ACI Worldwide, merchants should expect a 14-percent increase in fraud attempts between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve 2018. The value of fraud attempts is expected to increase by 17 percent.
Organized retail crime is continuing to grow, with nearly three-quarters of retailers surveyed reporting an increase in the past year, according to the 14th annual ORC study by the National Retail Federation.
