The newest ANSI standard, Conformity Assessment and Auditing Management Systems for Quality of Private Security Company Operations, was released today.

ASIS International (ASIS) announced that Mohamed ElBaradei, former director general, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) (1997-2009), will address attendees of the ASIS International 58th Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2012) on Tuesday, September 11 at 8:00 a.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
A recent OSHA inspection of a Maine psychiatric hospital found more than 90 instances from 2008 through 2010 in which workers were assaulted on the job by patients. The hospital was cited for not providing its workers with adequate safeguards against workplace violence and a fine of more than $6,000 was proposed. OSHA has also recently cited facilities in New York and Massachusetts where employees have been killed as a result of assaults.
Outside of the classrooms and general sessions, the ASIS 2011 exhibit floor will be abuzz with activity around some of the most innovative security products and services the industry has to offer. The challenge for many will be in navigating the more than 700 exhibits across 230,000+ square feet to find the best solutions.
