A poll from cybersecurity nonprofit (ISC)2 outlined the top concerns of security leaders as the Russian invasion of Ukraine progresses.
Prior to the land invasion, Russia launched cyberattacks targeting Ukrainian government websites and the power grid. Since the physical invasion began, Ukraine has been targeted by further cyberattacks.
Cybersecurity professionals around the globe are concerned about the ramifications of these attacks, as well as the possibility of being targeted by Russia as the invasion escalates.
Top cybersecurity concerns
(ISC)2 conducted a poll of 269 members to uncover the top concerns of the cybersecurity industry regarding these events. The main worry that respondents recorded was the possibility of an attack targeting critical infrastructure and supply chains, which would have global effects.
In addition, security professionals highlighted a lack of cyber readiness and potential business interruption/data loss as concerns for their organizations and the industry at large.
