The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada added a security robot to its team. The Knightscope K5 Autonomous Security Robot (ASR) has 360-degree view cameras, two way communication ability, thermal imaging and an emergency call button.
According to news reports, security staff named the robot "Jackbot." In tandem with the physical security team, the robot will add an additional layer of security to patrols and be an extra set of eyes and ears for the team.
Through the robot, security officers can see and hear what is going on, communicate with customers and staff through the robot, as well as dispatch additional officers if needed.
The Grand Sierra Resort features nearly 2,000 hotel rooms and suites, the largest casino floor in northern Nevada at 100,000 square feet, and a range of entertainment, dining and night life options.
