Security magazine announces 2021 Top Cybersecurity Leaders recipients

Top Cyber Leaders 2021
March 1, 2021

TROY, MICH. — Security magazine, a digital publication for enterprise security leaders, launched its inaugural Top Cybersecurity Leaders program for 2021. Security partnered with (ISC)², the world’s leading cybersecurity professional organization, to find enterprise information security executives who have made and continue to make significant contributions in the cybersecurity space to their organizations and the security profession.

Recipients of the 2021 Top Cybersecurity Leaders will be profiled in Security’s March issue in the digital edition and online at https://www.securitymagazine.com/articles/94690-the-2021-top-cybersecurity-leaders.

“For our first year, we saw an impressive number of nominations of cybersecurity leaders who mitigate risk within their own organization or are furthering the profession of cybersecurity with their industry involvement and contributions,” said Maggie Shein, Editor-in-Chief of Security. “There are many cyber leaders that are innovative, forward-thinkers and thought-leaders in the industry and it’s our goal to highlight a few of those professionals who are making a difference in their organization and/or in the industry as a whole.”

This year’s Top Cybersecurity Leaders are:

  • Jason Albuquerque, CIO and CSO, Carousel Industries
  • Derrick A. Butts, Chief Information and Cybersecurity Officer, Truth Initiative
  • Edna Conway, Vice President, Chief Security & Resiliency Officer, Azure, Microsoft
  • Chuck Davis, Senior Director of Cybersecurity, Hikvision
  • Dave Estlick, CISO, Chipotle
  • Heather Gantt-Evans, CISO, SailPoint
  • Theresa Grafenstine, Global Chief Auditor, Technology, Citi
  • Roy E. Hadley Jr., Special Counsel, Adams and Reese LLP
  • Shawn Harris, Director, Information Security – Strategy, Engagement, and Architecture, Starbucks Coffee Company
  • Grant Sewell, Head of Information Security and Privacy, Safelite Group
  • Spencer Wilcox, Executive Director, Technology and Chief Security Officer, PNM Resources
  • Ira Winkler, CISO, Skyline Technology Solutions

“It’s important to give credit where it’s due and shine a spotlight on superior leadership in our industry. These professionals have a lot to teach us,” said Clar Rosso, CEO, (ISC)2. “We’re proud to partner with Security on their inaugural list and would like to congratulate the honorees on their inclusion.”

Nominations for the 2022 Top Cybersecurity Leaders program will open in September 2021 and close in December. Entrants and nominees do not need to be members of (ISC)² to apply to this program. Nominations are considered based on the overall positive impact that their work has had on their shareholders, organizations, colleagues and the general public. Nominees may be chief information security officers, cybersecurity leaders, lawyers, professors, etc. Vendors may be considered as long as their role deals with mitigating cybersecurity risks within their organization.
