Montana State University-Northern is upgrading its security on its 100+ acre campus which houses more than 1,000 students. The public university is located in Havre, Montana and is part of the Montana University System. The university was Northern Montana College prior to the restructuring of Montana's public university system in 1994.
Part of the security project will include access control from NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc. The school is working on deploying Continental Access Access Control products and Alarm Lock Trilogy Networx locks for an integrated enterprise class security solution. The new CA4K software and associated hardware will control access to more than 150 exterior doors on the university campus.
Features of the software program include rapid door opening times, full data downloads, email and SMS alerts and control of up to 32,000 doors. Features of the Trilogy locks include the five-year battery life, emergency global lockdown in 10 seconds, wireless updates in order to make ID changes for faculty and students, schedule routines, and audit trails with date /time stamps.
