It’s not really condoned by streaming services yet it’s often allowed – password sharing. In a recent survey from Kill the Cable Bill, the organization found that 54% of Netflix customers surveyed share their password with another household. Almost 18% say they share with a friend, 26% share with a family member outside of their immediate family and 9% share with a child that lives outside the home.
The survey comes amid recent news that Netflix raised its prices again. During Netflix’s October 2019 Third-Quarter Earnings Interview, the company mentioned it would likely be doing something to pushback against password sharing, but has of yet to do anything about it.
