In his new role, Phillips is responsible for overseeing security strategy and will draw on his recent experience as an end user of Traction Guest’s VMS platform. He will be accentuating Traction Guest's customer centric approach with real-world subject matter expertise, which will bring new insights to product development and market messaging.
“Security concerns are growing in quantity and complexity. As a former security and risk manager for large, global enterprises, I know how critical it is to arm organizations with the right technologies to keep people and facilities safe. This will be especially true when the world re-enters the workplace following this global pandemic,” said Phillips. “Physical security has typically been thought of as ‘guns, gates and guards,’ but for industry-leading enterprise companies, it’s about assessing enterprise security risk and putting the proper countermeasures in place to meet compliance requirements and protect employees, visitors and facilities. Using Traction Guest, I learned firsthand why its superior technology for secure visitor management leads in the enterprise market, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to maximize product fit with customer needs.”
Before Traction Guest, Phillips served as the director of Global Security at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he helped create a strategic security function focused on prevention before reaction and established the company's first Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), which is centered around the latest in security technologies. Phillips previously held the position of director of Physical Security, Technology and Integration at Alexion Pharmaceuticals where he developed the company's first physical security program with a special focus on leveraging technology to keep employees safe in the workplace.
Phillips was named a Top 20 Under 40 by the Security End Users Awards and earned the Best In-House Security Team from the Outstanding Security Performance Awards at a GSX trade show. Earlier in his career, Phillips provided security support to both startup and enterprise organizations, specializing in selecting, scaling and administering access control and CCTV systems, standards-compliant risk assessments, contracted security officers and other security project management initiatives.
“Brian possesses both a deep knowledge of the physical security space and a strong affinity for technology that will be instrumental in helping us solve complex security, compliance and visitor data challenges for global enterprises,” said Keith Metcalfe, CEO at Traction Guest. “He is deeply familiar with our platform, provides powerful insights and is highly respected in the security community. Brian will play a vital role in shaping our go-to-market strategy and in accelerating customer adoption of our cloud-based VMS platform.”
