The International Security Management Association (ISMA) recently named its 2019 Founders’ Award recipient -- Kirsten Meskill, Director of Corporate Security for BASF. Meskill received her award during the January 2020 ISMA Members Meeting in San Diego, Calif.

An ISMA member since 2011, Meskill has strengthened ISMA’s suite of educational offerings by spearheading, in partnership with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, the development of a course focused on Security as a Business Asset. The course helps attendees to transform how their organizations recognize the security function as a core part of enterprise-level risk management and redefine how security adds value to core business functions.

“Kirsten embodies the hard work and dedication of our ISMA members and is a deserving recipient of this award,” said David McGowan, President of the ISMA Board of Directors and Vice President and Head of Global Protection Services of Tiffany & Co. “Kirsten has made ISMA’s impact stronger by helping to develop an innovative program that will leave a long legacy as it prepares tomorrow’s security leaders.”

The Founders’ Award is presented to ISMA members who have contributed in an extraordinary manner in advancing the vision, mission and strategic goals of ISMA; who perform an exemplary act in furthering the strength, reputation, visibility, branding and recognition of ISMA; who develop an idea that significantly expands the deliverables of ISMA; or who involve ISMA in a relationship or activity that enhances the spirit and meaning of “international.”

“I am proud of the work we are doing,” said Meskill.  “It’s been a privilege to lead this effort on behalf of ISMA and its education efforts. I have learned so much during my tenure as a member and I’m passionate about the future of security management and developing our security leaders of tomorrow.”
