New video footage from Chile shows protesters targeting a police drone with lasers and the drone falling shortly after.
According to a news report, a group of 40-59 protesters held lasers at the drone and soon after, the drone fell from the sky. Many Twitter videos resurfaced after the incident. Another news report noted that if the drone was being flown manually by an operator watching through a first-person video, the bright lights might have blinded the camera, causing the operator to lose control and crash the drone.
Similarly, protesters in Hong Kong are using hand-held laser pointers to confuse police officers and deter facial recognition cameras from recording, taking photos and more.
