At an event, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi unveiled a new vision for the rideshare app, which will focus on improving the safety and experience of Uber users and drivers.

According to a news report, the new update comes as Uber announced many safety updates, including a four-digit PIN system for riders to make sure they're getting into the right car with the right driver, and an update of its facial recognition technology to help ensure its verified drivers are the ones driving.

Additionally, Uber will test the update in nine countries around the world, including the U.S. The tests of the new update will begin in October, said a company spokesperson. The new update unifies many of the services Uber offers, such as rideshare, Uber Eats and e-bikes under one app, says the report.
