Responders with the San Jacinto River Fleet Unified Command, TX used a drone to conduct initial damage assessments of the I-10 bridge that at least two barges struck.
According to a news report, nine barges broke loose and at least two struck the Houston bridge.
"The unified command’s number one priority is the safety of the public and responders. There is currently no health threat to the public. There are no reports of pollution from the barges involved in this incident; pollution teams, to include air and water monitoring, remain on site and are prepared to respond if the situation changes," says a United States Coast Guard press release.
