Chicago’s DeWitt Clinton Elementary School has received a $20,000 School Security Grant from ASIS International and the ASIS Foundation.
The grant helps fund the purchase and installation of security equipment at a school building and/or campus. This year, DeWitt Clinton will receive security cameras from Axis Communications, surveillance software from Genetec, and recording servers from BCDVideo in addition to the cash award from ASIS, for a total of $60,000.
“Clinton Elementary School has three core values—be respectful, be responsible and be safe,” says Maureen Delgado, DeWitt’s principal. “With the help of a new camera system, students and community will notice the school reinforcing our Core Values. The feeling of additional safety will result in a better learning environment.”
DeWitt Clinton Elementary School will use the grant money to ensure that all areas of the school are monitored by video surveillance cameras and a video management system.
