The College of Southern Nevada is introducing several Cannabis courses this spring.
“Cannabis 101” will focus on the folklore, history and science behind marijuana, “Green Collar Jobs” will present an overview of the business, regulations, security and customer service involved in working in the marijuana industry, and “Dispensary Customer Service” will teach about products available and how to serve the customer, says a news report.
The new courses are offered by CSN’s Division of Workforce and Economic Development, a self-supporting arm of the college designed to help meet the needs of the area’s businesses and industries, as well as those of adult learners seeking education opportunities, new skills and career advancement.
“Cannabis 101” will begin April 16 and will be taught by Francis Jordan, a chemist with cannabis testing laboratory MA Analytics. “Dispensary Customer Service” will be a one-day class on May 18 and again on July 20. It will be taught by Jason Sturtsman, an industry consultant and entrepreneur. “Green Collar Jobs” will begin July 26, and will be taught by Riana Durrett, executive director of the Nevada Dispensary Association.
