Florida State University has released an active shooter video to help students how to deal with an active shooter in any setting.

The video focuses on how to respond, how to barricade and how to save yourself.

"If you don't practice and prepare mentally, you'll have that moment of pause or maybe freeze when you have to respond and take action," said David Perry, the chief of police at FSU. "There is an opportunity to survive. There is an opportunity to run or get away. If you can't run or get away, you have to do everything you can to create more time."

The video will be built into the police department's presentation to all incoming students. Next summer, it will shown to every parent and student attending the school.
