News station KRQE in Albuquerque, NM, was forced to skip its 10 p.m. newscast July 1 after a nonemployee gained access to the building and sat down on set.

According to ABC, news employees were forced to evacuated their building due to the intruder, who had first gained access to the building around 8:45 p.m. when the crew was preparing for the next broadcast, and the man was escorted from the premises. KRQE employees called 911 shortly thereafter to report that the man had returned to the building, and the facility was evacuated as a precaution.

Police did not want to take any chances, especially following the shooting at a newsroom in Annapolis the previous week, so they evacuated the station and told the nearby NBC affiliate to shelter-in-place.
Albuquerque police searched the building with a tactical unit, but could not find the man, and the evacuation order was lifted.
