The Duke Energy Corporation, one of the largest utilities in the word, has appointed Brian Harrell as Managing Director, Enterprise Security. Harrell is widely seen as an expert on critical infrastructure protection, risk management, and organizational resilience. He is the former Director of Critical Infrastructure Protection Programs and Director of Operations for the Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (E-ISAC) while at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). He was recently recognized as Security Magazine's Most Influential People in Security and he currently serves as a Senior Fellow at the Center for Cyber and Homeland Security at The George Washington University.
Harrell earned his bachelor's degree from Hawaii Pacific University and master's degrees from Central Michigan University and Pennsylvania State University.
