Jamaica’s Ministry of Tourism will contribute a further 1 billion Jamaican dollars to the Ministry of National Security to assist with security and law enforcement across the island.
The funds will be disbursed over the next four years and will help to improve technology and aid in gathering intelligence to track and apprehend criminals across the island.
The Ministry of Tourism has already invested 1 billion Jamaican dollars to support the efforts of the Ministry of National Security in fighting crime, which Tourism Minister Bartlett has declared as money well spent. As he committed the additional funds he stressed that a partnership of this nature is critical if the tourism industry is to grow and meet its target of securing 5 million visitors by 2021.
