G4S Government Solutions, Inc. has been sold, along with other related assets and assumed liabilities, for $135 million to a U.S. private equity firm, launching Centerra Group, LLC, a global government and critical infrastructure services company. This means that Centerra will soon be the largest American-owned provider of protective services to the Federal Government.
The company plans to evolve beyond security and fire support services primarily through organic growth, although there are plans to launch multiple strategic divisions in the next quarter.
G4S GS currently supports more than 50 prominent customers, including the Department of Energy, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and more. Centerra President and CEO Paul Donahue says in a statement that Centerra will continue to provide service for G4S GS’s customers with no disruption in service, citing a future of minimal changes during the transition.
