The Transportation Security Administration would like to remind holiday travelers to leave their toy chainsaws at home this year.
As a public reminder, the TSA displayed thousands of items confiscated from carry-on bags over three months at Kennedy Airport. Overall, bring your knitting needles and ice skates, nix the sparklers, nunchucks or fake chain saws. Toy weapons of any kind, including grenades, are out, as well as real knives, handcuffs and bullets.
Some items are allowed into checked luggage, but not carry-ons. Full details are available on the TSA website.
Four tons of prohibited items are collected every year at John F. Kennedy International Airport alone, and states get to take the surrendered items. Some, like Pennsylvania, takes and sells them.
NBC put together a slideshow of TSA prohibited item reminders that you can review and share here.
