A 9-year-old runaway went through airport security and boarded a plane to Las Vegas without a ticket at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Newsday reports.
The boy was screened at the airport shortly after 10:30 a.m., October 3, and he boarded a Delta flight for Las Vegas. The flight was not full, and the flight crew became suspicious mid-flight because the boy was not on their list of unattended minors. They contacted Las Vegas police, who met them upon landing and transferred the boy to child protection services.
The boy had been at the airport on October 2 as well, and surveillance video shows him grabbing a bag from the carousel and ordering lunch at a restaurant outside of the security checkpoints. He ate and then left the bag to go to the restroom and never returned to pay.
