A group of researchers have made charging your iPhone a hazardous activity.
A research team from the Georgia Institute of Technology claim to have developed a new smartphone charger to install malware on almost any Apple device running the latest iOS version. The team will be presenting and demonstrating their findings at the Black Hat security conference this July and August.
According to The Next Web and Gizmodo, the researchers appear to have discovered a weakness in Apple’s mobile operating system. They also plan to recommend ways in which users can protect their devices going forward.
Apple has yet to recognize the group’s findings.
