Olympic athletes are so excited to share the news that they have arrived in the Olympic Village, they just aren’t thinking – they’re tweeting instead.
In what has become a nightmare for Olympic Village security, the athletes are posting images of their Olympic Village passes online for the fans to see, according to an article from The Examiner. On Wednesday the Olympic Village stepped up security and reminded athletes that posting high resolution images of their accreditation on Twitter is not allowed.
Apparently security was able to reissue the credentials so those showing online won’t be used by the athletes, but it shows the grave issue of security for the Olympic Games, the article says.
