The Tennessee Titans have hired Green Bay (Wisc.) Chief of Police Jim Arts to be their next Director of Security. He will replace Steve Berk, who is retiring in June after spending 16 years with the organization, according to a press release in the Tennessean.
Arts worked with the Green Bay Police Department for 26 years, including the last five years as Chief of Police. While in Green Bay, he worked closely with the Green Bay Packers in planning and coordinating security for home games among many other duties, the release says.
“We interviewed a number of highly-qualified candidates, but Jim had the skill set and experience that fit our needs,” said Titans Chief Operating Officer Mike Reinfeldt in the press release. “He has worked with a football team from the other side and understands what will work from the team’s perspective and the city’s. He came with high recommendations and we look forward to him joining our organization. He has big shoes to fill – Steve has been a great asset to our organization for a number of years and he will be missed. We wish him the best in his retirement.”
Arts will start his new role with the Titans in June.
