A gunman opened fire Wednesday at a Texas courthouse, leaving at least one dead and three wounded, according to a Fox News report.
Eighty miles east of Houston, the Jefferson County Courthouse in Beaumont, Texas, was placed on lockdown after the shooting in the courthouse parking lot, the report says.
A Beaumont police spokeswoman told Fox News that the alleged gunman was taken into custody after being shot by police.
Officer Doug Kibodeaux declined to identify the suspect, but did say that the suspect was going to court with his family when he opened fire and shot several rounds. Kibodeaux did not say whether any victims were related to the suspect, but the deceased is reported to be an elderly woman. The condition of the three wounded victims is unknown, the report says.
