A San Jose, Calif. teenager stabbed outside a McDonald's is suing the restaurant owners for failing to provide enough security.
The Santa Clara County lawsuit filed by 17-year-old Jonathan Paredes and his mother Gloria Paredes alleges negligence, saying the McDonald's owners failed to provide adequate security when large crowds gather for nearby Thursday night Music in the Park performances.
The San Jose Mercury News says the teenager was stabbed multiple times outside the restaurant on June 9. Five teens were stabbed or injured during the incident.
The lawsuit says restaurant management was aware of large crowds and violent criminal activity at McDonald's because of its proximity to Music in the Park.
