Starting Sept. 1, Texans who have concealed handgun licenses will be able to leave their weapons and ammunition in their vehicles while at work.

Currently, employers can ban weapons from their property.

While some critics of the law say it could present more opportunities for workplace violence by putting guns in easy reach of disgruntled workers others disagree.

The law has some exceptions; it doesn't allow weapons in parking lots of schools and other places where handguns are banned by law
