Michael A. Scott was named Federal Security Director for John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). As FSD, he will oversee all TSA operations at the airport. The FSD is the chief federal security officer at the airport and in the region and the first point of contact when a security issue arises.
Previously, Scott oversaw TSA operations at LaGuardia, MacArthur and Westchester County airports and the Manhattan Heliports. He also directed critical response and recovery operations in the aftermath of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center.
