From ISC, Cypress Computer Systems Inc. and Veridt, Inc. announced today a new comprehensive family of mobile, wireless card readers for ID verification and Physical Access. These readers combine Cypress’s wireless Wiegand interface with Veridt’s smartcard and biometric technology resulting in this family of readers that can be configured for card only or with Keypad and biometric.
Card and Card Formats include: HID Prox and Pyramid Prox by Farpointe, both Veridt’s format and General Information, Access Control, and Biometric containers from GSC-IS compliant smart cards. The reader is also compatible with PIV II, TWIC, CAC as well as open standards, ISO 1443A (MIFARER / DESfireR), ISO 1443B.
Reader Operation includes Multi-factor Authentication: easily programmed for Card only, Card + PIN, Card + Biometric, Card + PIN+ Biometric.
Multi-mode operation is also available: easily programmed to dynamically recognize multiple card formats for legacy, local and government requirements (e.g., DESfire + TWIC).
