The Security Industry Association (SIA) recently elected John Stroia, vice president, government security and monitoring solutions for Diebold, Incorporated to its board of directors.
Stroia’s extensive leadership in the security industry aligns with the association’s initiatives, which include support to industry leaders in biometrics, access control and systems integration. During Stroia’s 16-year tenure with Diebold, he has made several significant contributions to the company, ranging from product planning to business development. Stroia currently leads Diebold’s government security sales organization and event monitoring team. “Considering Diebold’s pioneering role in the security industry and John’s commitment to the advancement of the industry, his selection to the SIA board was the logical choice,” said Dennis M. Moriarty, senior vice president, global security, noting that the appointment followed an extensive selection committee search and vote. “We expect John’s impact and visionary outlook on the security industry will be put to effective use in his new post with fellow industry leaders.” SIA is a nonprofit international trade association with more than 300 member companies representing electronic and physical security product manufacturing specifiers and service providers.
While promoting growth, advancement and professionalism within the security industry, SIA places particular emphasis on its efforts toward advancement in government relations, research and technology, education, training and standards.
