TLC Engineering Solutions with HOK was awarded SecuritySpecifiers’ 2024 Elliot A. Boxerbaum Award for excellence in security design.

TLC Engineering Solutions with Hok received the award for the security design work on the San Diego International Airport’s new Administration Building. The project was constructed on a greenfield site and included 135,000-square-foot, four-story building. This building allowed for a range of operations, including Authority Board Room and administrative offices, the Airport Operations Center (AOC), the Security Operations Center (SOC), and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

The Elliot A. Boxerbaum Award acknowledges excellence in security system design. This award is offered by SecuritySpecifiers and co-sponsored by Security magazine at the yearly CONSULT event — a physical security event for companies involved in security engineering and design. Awardees of the Elliot A. Boxerbaum Award are recognized for design excellence, collaboration, creativity, uniqueness and administration factors that resulted in a highly successful security project.

The late Elliot Boxerbaum, who passed away in 2014 from ALS, was the former President and Founder of Security Risk Management Consultants, Inc., and is the honored namesake of this award.

Tim McCord, Senior Associate/Senior Project Manager/System Designer at TLC Engineering Solutions, accepted the award during a ceremony on October 26 at the the 2024 CONSULT event in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico.

For more information on this year’s winner and the project, an in-depth profile will be available in Security magazine’s December issue.

Congratulations to TLC Engineering Solutions with HOK!
