A Texas public transportation system has updated their security measures. The system will utilize Knightscope blue light emergency towers.

The system operates bus, paratransit services and commuter rail systems that serve a large city and several suburbs in multiple counties of central Texas. The system covers over 500 square miles of service area with a system of more than 1,600 bus stops and 80 routes. The system supported a ridership of over 21 million people, or approximate 81,000 per weekday, as of the third quarter of 2023.

The towers will allow passengers to call emergency services. The towers exact location is known, making it easier for first responders to locate the callers. The towers will also work within the railway system, where cellular coverage is often limited.
