Encrypts Wireless Handheld Access Control Readers

To safeguard users’ data and the wireless connection, Cypress Integration Solutions is encrypting its Wireless Handheld Readers using SIA’s OSCP Secure Channel – an open, secure protection against playback attacks, a known vulnerability in the Wiegand protocol.  The Wireless Reader verifies credentials by wirelessly communicating with a live database through the reader’s base unit; select models control a relay function, such as opening a door or gate, or triggering a duress alarm.
