Fallout from Cargo Terror Threat: Suspicious Case in Chicago on “To O’Hare” Train Station
November 9, 2010
Portions
of the Kennedy Expressway and multiple Blue Line CTA train stops were closed
for at least two hours Monday night when a suspicious briefcase was discovered
at the Blue Line's Addison stop on the northwest side. The train line goes to
and from O’Hare International Airport.
The
case, which was discovered at the CTA platform at 6 p.m., did not contain
explosive materials, according to police on the scene. However, wires were seen
sticking out of the small case. And police investigated a nearby parked car in
the vicinity.
As
a precaution, Illinois State Police closed the Kennedy, one of Chicago’s
busiest expressways, in both directions for a number of hours. More on Transportation
